Weekly Forcast Highlights
- Moisture intrusion from the Bay of Bengal, associated with an easterly monsoon flow, is expected to influence the eastern parts of Pakistan, while a weak westerly wave approaching the northern regions may further enhance atmospheric instability. The combined effect of these two weather systems is likely to trigger rainfall over the upper and northeastern parts of the country during the forecast period.
- It may cause light to moderate rain in central and Upper Punjab, while moderate to heavy rainfall in AJK, KPK and high elevated region of G.B predicted during current week.
- Based on the latest model forecast 25.1 mm average rainfall expected during the week. Around half of the country will receive rainfall during this week.
- During next week (13 – 19 July) may receive less rainfall than current week.
- The rainfall expected only over upper Punjab, KPK and AJK region.
- According to model rainfall forecast average rainfall during the forecast week is about 13.8 mm.
- Southern parts of Pakistan and Balochistan may be under high temperature stress with no rainfall.
- There is a low probability of light rainfall along the coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan.
