Dust-thunderstorm/rain predicted in upper and central parts from 02nd (night) to 04th May

Met office predicted that a fresh westerly wave is likely to approach northwestern parts of the country on 02nd (evening) May and likely to persist in upper parts till 05th May (Morning). Under the influence of this weather system:

• Kyber Pakhtunkhwa: Dust-thunderstorm/rain with isolated heavy falls/hailstorm is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot, Haripur, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Bajaur, Mohmand, Orakzai, Khyber, Swabi, Charsadda, Kohat, Kurram, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan from 02nd (evening) to 04th May with occasional gaps.
• Punjab/Islamabad: Dust-thunderstorm/rain with isolated hailstorm is expected in Murree, Galiyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Jhang, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal from 02nd (evening) to 04th May (night) with occasional gaps. While Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated hailstorm may occur in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Layyah, Khushab, Noorpurthal, Multan and Khanewal on 03rd & 04th May.
• Gilgit Baltistan:  Rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected in (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Guanche, Shigar) from 02nd (night) to 05th May with occasional gaps.
• Kashmir: Rain-wind/thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls/hailstorm is expected in Kashmir (Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) from from 02nd (night) to 05th May with occasional gaps.
• Balochistan: Windstorm/thunderstorm is expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Kohlu, Zhob, Barkhan and Loralai from 02nd to 04th May with occasional gaps.
• Sindh: Dust thunderstorm is expected in upper Sindh on 02nd & 03rd May.

Possible Impacts and advises:

• Windstorm/ hailstorm and lightning may damage weak structures (electric poles, bill boards, solar panels etc.) during the forecast period.
• Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on 03rd and 04th May.
• Hailstorm/windstorm may damage standing crops in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Punjab. Farmers are advised to manage their crops according to the prevailing weather conditions.
• Prevailing very hot weather condition over the plain areas of the country is likely to subside during the forecast period.
• Tourists and travelers are advised to remain extra cautious and avoid unnecessary travelling during the forecast period.
